Highlights

The Vivid Engineering CLV-412 CameraLink Video Splitter interfaces one CameraLink camera of any configuration (base, medium, full, 80-bit) to up-to four frame grabbers using standard CameraLink cables. This enables the use of multiple frame grabbers for applications requiring parallel or distributed processing, camera sharing, etc. One frame grabber acts as a master and provides control and communications to the camera. The remaining frame grabbers receive camera video data only. The master frame grabber is selectable and may be dynamically changed for applications requiring camera control sharing. The Vivid Engineering CLV-412 incorporates high-speed 85 MHz interfaces and supports all CameraLink cameras. Multiple CLV-412s may be cascaded for large parallel processing systems. The CLV-412 Camera Link Video Splitter is housed in a sturdy, compact aluminum enclosure.

The CLV-412 product incorporates the standard (MDR) connector.  Camera Link cables are readily available with the standard (MDR) connector on one end and the mini (HDR/SDR) connector on the other.  Note that the CLV-412 does not support PoCL.

Application

A typical Vivid Engineering CLV-412 application uses a CameraLink full configuration camera to connect a single CLV-412 via a pair of standard CameraLink cables. Additional CameraLink cable pairs are then used to connect the CLV-412 to up-to four CameraLink frame grabbers. The master frame grabber provides camera control and communication, as well as performing processing functions.
