If cameras are used under ambient temperatures of about 45°C, active cooling will be usually required.
The Turtle series is particularly suitable for outdoor applications, e.g. suitable in the solar industry, because the Peltier climate control requires only a power supply, which can even be powered by photo-voltaics. These enclosures have been used successfully for years now in the worlds hottest deserts and keep the camera below maximum operating temperatures at up 70°C ambient temperature and up to 1kW of solar radiation. The Peltier controller permanently monitors the camera temperature and automatically switches between cooling and heating operation according to the set temperature levels. The permanent monitoring of the camera’s internal temperature allows in case of fault shutdown of the camera.
